Alumni Club gives to Long Co. softball team
The Long County Alumni Association recently presented the Lady Tide softball team with a $1,000 check to help pay for new uniforms. Turnovers proved costly as the Hinesville Hurricanes took their first loss of the season last Saturday at Long Bell Stadium in Hinesville, falling to the Georgia Pirates, 34-8.
Coastal Crew Rebels hit the hardcourt in Orlando
During its trip to the AAU Easter Classic in Orlando, the sixth-grade Coastal Crew Rebels basketball team attended an Orlando Magic game last Saturday. Before the game, the team hit the hardwood court for a photo.

MLK Golf Tournament set The Liberty County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance Association will host its ninth annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on April 13 at the Cherokee Rose Country Club. Hoop stars stress hard work, studies
Former Liberty County High School basketball players Rion Brown, Jordan McRae and Lamar Richardson dropped by the Shuman Center on Thursday evening and spoke to a group of young basketball players. The trio touched on the importance of working hard and maintaining good grades in order to play at the college level.

For some time, the children at the Liberty County Pre-K Center watched as Bradwell Institute's new football stadium was built. Once it was complete, the students admired the new field and facility, which sparked an idea that came to fruition last week.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy's Kirk Hill Jr. signed a letter of intent Thursday to play basketball for Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville.
Former Highlander, now at BPC, honored by FPCA
Former Lady Highlander basketball player Aaliyah Wilson got a big surprise when she visited First Presbyterian Christian Academy on Friday morning. The Lady 'Lander basketball standout received a scholarship last year to play basketball at Brewton-Parker College, but her busy schedule didn't give the school administrators an opportunity to honor her with a signing ceremony.
