Coffee sweeps DW tourney

Hinesville was all about basketball on Saturday. The action took place at three different schools as the 20th annual Donell Woods Tournament showcased ninth grade and junior varsity squads from around the region. Busy night for hoops in Hinesville

Liberty County High School earned their first Region 2A-AAAA wins Friday night against Wayne County. The Lady Panthers won 52-44 and the Panther boys earned a 66-59 win over Wayne. Over at Bradwell, the girls beat Savannah High 51-38 and the boys fell 91-68 to the Blue Jackets.

Blue Tide baseball team holds rec night for players, coaches

The Blue Tide baseball team recently held its annual Recreation Night in Long County. Around 50 players and coaches who are participating in the T-ball, softball and baseball programs came out for the night. Recreation department Director Michelle Rogers said more than 400 children will be playing this year.
