Former Liberty stars to begin new campaigns

Former Liberty County basketball players Rion Brown and Jordan McRae started their college careers last season with Brown scoring points for the University of Miami and McRae making the plays at the University of Tennessee.

Lady Highlanders get first-round win

Looking to add another first to the First Presbyterian Christian Academy's growing list of sports accomplishments, the Lady Highlanders volleyball team won its first state playoff match on Monday, beating Bethlehem Christian Academy, 3-2 (27-25, 25-27, 25-15, 18-25, 15-12).

Rego to represent BI in Dugout Club game

Bradwell Institute softball player Barbara Rego was chosen to participate in the Georgia Dugout Club All State Games in Columbus Nov. 11-12, at the South Commons Olympic Softball Complex. Rego was chosen along with other nominated players based on submitted nomination forms from coaches, statistics and a selection committee comprised of area coaches.

Late in the fourth quarter senior Panther running back Shadrach Thornton picked up a one-hopper from a punt and dashed for 70 yards on what appeared to be the game winning touchdown against Wayne County High at Donell Woods tonight.
