Guyton gets a pick

New England Patriots linebacker Gary Guyton, a Hinesville native and former Bradwell Institute star, picked off a Ben Roethlisberger pass in Sunday's 25-17 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Guyton stepped in front of a pass at the Steelers' 26-yard line and ran it back to the 9. That set up Tom Brady's pass to Deon Branch for the Patriots' only touchdown of the first half. It's Guyton's third NFL career interception.

Tigers take region XC crown

It's been 12 years since Bradwell Institute's last Region 3-AAAAA cross country championship, but the drought is over. Wednesday morning the Tigers competed in the region championship at Savannah Country Day and had a stellar showing. Not only did the boys win by a large margin but they had four members named to the All-Region team and three school records were broken. According to BI coach Brian Williams, eight of the 14 kids competing ran personal best times.

Tigers fight to the end

The Tigers played tough defense against Groves High on Friday night at Olvey Field. But Juwan Johnson found just enough daylight to score on a 4-yard run late in the second quarter, and that gave the Rebels all points they needed in a 6-0 win over Bradwell Institute.

Signed jerseys awarded at BI game

Joy McCork and Bobby Kindley were the winners of the signed New England Patriots jerseys benefiting Team Brandon. The two were awarded their jerseys during halftime of Friday's game. McCork won the signed Tom Brady jersey and Kindley won the jersey of former BI Tiger Gary Guyton.
