Pierce remains unbeaten, Tide still winless

The Pierce County Bears remained undefeated in Region 2-AA by beating the Long County Blue Tide, 21-3, on Friday night in Blackshear. The win improved Pierce County to 4-2 overall.

Knights beat Tigers 34-24

Penalties hurt the Bradwell Tigers and speed helped the Windsor Forest Knights on Olvey Field tonight. Bradwell battled to the bitter end but as the clock ticked toward zero the Knights held on to win 34-24 in a Region 3-AAAAA match up.

Tied for last place in Region 3-AAAAA is not where the Bradwell Tigers want to be at this point in the football season. Nestled alongside Jenkins and Savannah High, the Tigers need to win tonight when they host Windsor Forest to have a viable shot for the postseason. In fact, the BI boys need to win from here on out to push Johnson, Benedictine and Groves down the region scale.

Softball season over for Long County girls

Its official: The softball season has come and gone. Long County High School wrapped up its season Wednesday and Thursday with a 6-3 loss to Liberty County and a 14-2 loss to Appling County.
