Vidalia stays perfect with win over Blue Tide
Long County High School's Deonte Ellis intercepted an Indians' pass before halftime, but the Blue Tide lost 39-7 to unbeaten Vidalia in a Region 2-AA contest. Long County falls to 0-2 in the region and 0-5 overall. More on this story in Wednesday's Courier.

The Long County High School softball team's struggles continued Thursday in an 8-0 loss to Pierce County in Blackshear.

Amid a downpour in Savannah Thursday afternoon the Lady Warriors of Jenkins managed to put their Region 3-AAAAA softball game away early, beating Bradwell Institute by the run-rule 11-1 in five innings.

Q: John and Chris were playing the fourth hole in their Saturday men's event. John hit his ball from the fairway and was almost sure that he went out of bounds. He announced to Chris that he was hitting a provisional ball. Before hitting his provisional, John replaced his divot and dropped a new ball as near as possible to the spot where he hit his last shot. Did John proceed in accordance with the rules?
