Pioneer football coach to speak at Hall of Fame banquet

Willie Jeffries, the first African-American head coach of a NCAA Division I-A football program, will address the audience as the keynote speaker at the ninth annual Liberty County Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, which is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Fort Stewart's Club Stewart.

The ninth annual Liberty County Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Club Stewart on Fort Stewart. Tickets must be purchased in advance for $20 and will not be sold at the door the night of the banquet.

Hoop season starts tonight for the Liberty Count Panther boys. The team will play in the Savannah Classic Tournament at Windsor Forest High School. Liberty will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. against Groves.
