LCRD holds softball camp

About 20 girls learned the fundamentals of softball during a camp July 16-19 at the Liberty County Recreation Department. Bradwell Institute's Lady Tiger junior-varsity softball coach Misty Eastlake ran the camp and was joined by some former high school softball teammates. The camp was open to girls ages 7-17.

Last year, the Long County High School baseball team finished the season with a 14-11 overall record and a 9-9 mark in Region 2-AA Region. But even though the team showed promise, doing better than it had in several years, it still missed making the playoffs by one game.
