Expansion means new fields in Long

McGowan back on mound in Class A

Long County's Dustin McGowan finally made it back to the pitcher's mound. Getting his first start since 2008, Mcgowan started July 2 for the Class A Dunedin Blue Jays against the Daytona Cubs in Dunedin, Fla.. Blue Tide baseball team holds rec night for players, coaches

The Blue Tide baseball team recently held its annual Recreation Night in Long County. Around 50 players and coaches who are participating in the T-ball, softball and baseball programs came out for the night. Recreation department Director Michelle Rogers said more than 400 children will be playing this year.
