Expect traffic snags in Flemington Tuesday

From 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, the Georgia Department of Transportation temporarily will close various traffic lanes at the intersection of Old Sunbury Road, Old Hines Road and Oglethorpe Highway for road maintenance. Signs will alert drivers to changes in traffic flow. Motorists should expect delays in the area.

4th suspect arrested in attempted robbery

Another suspect has been arrested in the Jan. 15 attempted robbery that reportedly began at Liberty Inn & Suites and affected Wells Fargo Bank on Gen. Screven Way. According to a Liberty County Sheriff's Office report, Ladonna Yvette Frasier turned herself in and is being housed at the Liberty County Regional Jail.

Highway 144 east road resurfacing began Sunday, continues until July

Road work on Georgia highway 144 that began Sunday night will continue until July 31. Motorists are urged to drive with caution. The Georgia Department of Transportation is paving a little more than 11 miles of highway 144 east between Evans Army Airfield and the Richmond Hill boundary gate in four-mile sections that will close one lane. Flagging stations will be used. Night work will occur. No lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
