Update: Ludowici Police Chief in accident

Ludowici Police Chief Robert Poppell was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital complaining of shoulder pain after the patrol car he was in was hit by a pickup and burst into flames Thursday morning. It was unclear Thursday afternoon whether Poppell has been released from the hospital.

Boil water advisory in east Liberty continues

A boil water advisory has been issued for any Liberty County residents who receive water services through Water Utility Management.That company provides water through community well systems in Lake George, Woodland Lakes, Twin Rivers, Isle of Wight, Anglers Edge, Point at Sunbury and the Village at Sunbury.Residents are advised to either use bottled water or "boil" all tap water prior to use for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing baby food.
