Vigil keeps Moody’s missing-person case alive

It's been more than four years since Debora Gail Moody last was seen Dec. 4, 2007. That day, the Long County woman purchased a new pen for her dog, and the owner of the store where she bought it followed her home to help her unload it. That friend was the last person to see Moody, who was 42 at the time.

Long Co. kicks off holiday season with festivities

Long County residents will kick off December by celebrating the holiday season at several planned events. The fun begins Saturday with the Long County Christmas Parade, hosted by the chamber of commerce. Floats and marchers will line up for the procession at 1 p.m. at Long County High School. Officials investigate wreck that killed soldier

An infantry soldier assigned to the 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, was killed Saturday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Fort Stewart, according to a 3rd ID public affairs office news release. Pvt. 1st Class Zachary Smith was traveling in the northbound lane on Gulick Avenue when the accident occurred, the release stated.

Fort Stewart soldier killed in motorcycle wreck identified

A Third Infantry Division Soldier killed in a motorcycle accident on Fort Stewart Saturday morning has been identified as Private First Class Zachary Smith, according to a press released issued by Fort Stewart's PAO Office. The Marne Division expresses its deepest condolences to the family and continues to provide Chaplain support and family assistance during this time.
