Camp for grieving children planned
Children ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of a loved one within the last 18 months are invited to attend a weekend, overnight camp organized by not-for-profit Hospice Savannah's Full Circle bereavement staff and volunteers.

Foresters say prescribed burns prevent wildfires
Residents living near Fort Stewart probably have noticed a little smoke recently. Bob Tanner, fire operations team leader for Fort Stewart's Forestry Branch, said not to worry. He said the Army deliberately conducts "prescribed burns" in specific areas from March through June and over the Christmas holidays to prevent uncontrolled wildfires. Each area is burned on a three-year cycle, he said.

Beginning at 5:50 a.m. Monday, the Liberty Transit system implemented new routes and schedules in the area. The changes came following a strategic planning study conducted March-December 2012 by the Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission.
