'World of Tanks' is fun on Xbox 360

At first glance, I thought it would be a silly game that required no skill and would bore me to death within minutes. However, I was completely wrong about "World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition." Developer Wargaming West has quite a game on its hands, as the PC version boasts a hefty 45 million registered players worldwide and even a set a record on Oct. 4, 2012, with 500,000 concurrent players online in one server.

Veterans to take wounded warriors fishing

Scores of soldiers assigned to Fort Stewart' Wounded Warriors Battalion are being treated to a free fishing event at Stewart's Pond No. 1, also called Pineview Lake. According to retired Command Sgt. Maj. Adna Chaffee of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 789, local veterans' organizations will sponsor a catch-and-release fishing outing from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 23.

About 150 people from 18 states checked into the Desoto Hotel in Savannah last weekend for the Southern Garden History Society's 32nd annual meeting. The two-day event included talks by landscape-design and preservation experts, and tours of gardens that traditionally are not open to the public.
