Chamber supports state tax panel

Editor, The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce knows that our tax system can be a key factor in bringing jobs, economic development and quality of life improvements to the state that benefit all Georgians. Here in Liberty County, the chamber is extremely sensitive to the impact that tax policy has on existing business, as well as how it can encourage or stifle relocation or expansion decisions.

Editor, The reason the public transportation system may be failing is because of its limited route schedule within Liberty County including Walthourville, Allenhurst, Gum Branch, Midway and Riceboro. This is where many riders who need transportation could be picked up.

Many without homes at Christmas

Editor, "I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams." That's a lyric from an old Christmas time favorite. It brings a tear to the eye when we hear it each holiday season. It's especially poignant when you remember there are many who don't have a home. Homelessness is a difficult situation to deal with at any time of year, but now, during the hustle and bustle of Christmas, it is an especially bitter thing to endure.
