FPCA beats Bethesda

In 2007, the Bethesda Blazers took the First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlanders out of the state title run by beating them in the final four. In 2008 and 2009, both teams battled for region leads and for the Georgia Independent State Association Class A title. The Highlanders brought home the trophy both years.

BI boys No. 2 at tourney

After breezing through the semi-finals in the Donell Woods tournament last weekend, the Bradwell Institute JV boys faced Sol C. Johnson High School in the finals. According to BI coach Rodney Davis, the showdown was a rematch of the previous night's regular season JV game. The championship game went back and forth with each team capturing an 8-point lead. As time expired, Tiger Larry Murray hit a clutch 3-point basket to send the game into overtime. Johnson eventually eked out a 55-54 victory.
