Lady Tide gets win over Yellow Jackets

The Blue Tide ladies got revenge against the Wayne County Yellow Jackets Saturday, beating them 51-47. The girls had lost to their rivals by a narrow three-point margin just a week earlier.

ATHENS - Junior Gym Dog and two-time Olympic medalist Courtney Kupets has decided not to make a second run for the 2008 Olympics, Georgia head coach Suzanne Yoculan has announced. Kupets, the NCAA all-around champion as a freshman and sophomore, instead has decided to focus solely on her team goals, her collegiate career and academic future.

The Panthers were handed two losses Friday night as the Beach High Bulldogs capitalized on their defense and outshot the men and women's basketball teams. The Panthers fell to 1-2 while the Lady Panthers suffered their first loss of the season and stand at 2-1.

Panthers pitch no-hitter against Groves

It was a quick trip to and from Garden City Thursday as the liberty County High School baseball team wrapped up a 17-1 win in four innings. The Panther boys had the game sealed in the first inning driving in 13 runs off 10 hits.
