The Annual KIDS-ETC 5K Fun Run was Aug.13

The Annual KIDS-ETC 5K Fun Run was Aug.13 in Ludowici. Director Linda Futch said there were more runners than in previous races. Runners gathered up at the Ludowici Well Pavilion and ran through the city. Futch said proceeds will go to the KIDS-ETC Scholarship fund which awards scholarships to local students. Highlanders overcome late start for first win

First Presbyterian Christian Academy overcame an hour long lightning delay and 12-point deficit to knock off Bethlehem Temple 26-20 in the Highlanders first home game of the season.

Veterans honor Sunbury 5K founder

Members of the Vietnam Veterans of America presented the Sunbury 5K with an award of appreciation for race organizer's $1,000 donation to VVA's "Good Friday Walk" that benefitted the Liberty County Coalition for the Homeless. Sunbury 5K organizers also donated $1,350 directly to the VVA for their local outreach efforts.

Bojangles for Blue Tide Breakfast

Recently the newly opened Bojangle's restaurant in Hinesville helped provide a little nourishment to the Long County High School football team by providing them with breakfast. Head coach Eric McNair said the food was excellent and that he and the team appreciated the help of the restaurant. Shown are the players and coaches who went and picked the food up.

Bradwell Institute went 0-3 at the Tattnall County Warriors' Blast Tournament over the weekend. The Lady Tigers fell 9-1 to Bryan County Friday, 15-0 against Tattnall County Saturday and 11-2 against Wheeler County.
