Tiger baseball coach Rhett Hellgren summed up his squad's 0-5 record with one word, "performance." The Tigers took a 7-5 loss at home Saturday against Richmond Hill despite a second inning rally that brought in 4 runs and put the Tigers up by 1.

Panther boys soccer squad is 9-0, 3-0 in region

The Liberty County Panther boys' soccer squad is 9-0 after defeating West Laurens 7-0 on the road on Friday and downing Thomson 5-1 at home on Saturday. They are also 3-0 in region 3-AAA.

Panthers close out Johnson in 4

Starting the game down 0-1 after a homerun from the visiting team might intimidate some squads, but the Liberty County Panthers brushed the dirt off, rolled up their sleeves and drove in 10 points in the second inning. The Panthers closed the game in the fourth with a 16-1 rout over visiting Johnson High School on Thursday.

One-point victory advances Tigers

It was full speed ahead Tuesday as the Bradwell Lady Tigers tipped-off against the Lady Lions of Luella High School at home for the Sweet 16 showdown. The match ended with everyone holding their breath and the Lady Tigers holding a 1-point advantage to win 57-56, sending them to the Elite Eight this weekend.

Tide, Panthers hoop seasons end

Liberty County and Long County high schools had the tough challenge of trying to make the Elite 8 by battling top seeded teams on the road Tuesday. Both teams ended a short of their goals as the Tide were defeated by the fighting Irish of Dublin 73-55 and the Panthers lost a close one to Westover High School losing 62-58.

Panthers win 5-1 over Jenkins

After getting rained out for their first game against Houston County and postponing game two at Windsor Forest because of bad field conditions, the Liberty County Panthers finally opened the baseball season with a 5-1 win over Jenkins in Savannah on Tuesday.
