Ogeechee basin celebration planned

STATESBORO - On Saturday, June 13, the Ogeechee-Canoochee Riverkeepers will celebrate the rivers at Coleman Lake Restaurant near Midville. The festivities will include a fish fry, music, door prizes and the annual membership meeting. The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and ends after lunch at 1 p.m.

17U Rebels invited to showcase

The 17U Rebels earned an invitation to the Super Showcase, an invitational tournament that precedes the 2009 AAU National Tournament, meaning the team will get a chance to display their talent to college scouts over the course of 10 days at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla., starting July 23.
