The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers are 4-0 in Region 3-AAAAA after taking a 58-33 win Friday in Savannah over the Lady Knights of Windsor Forest. The Tiger boys, however, dropped another close one, losing 66-61 and falling to 0-4 in the region.

After hammering out a 55-44 victory Tuesday over the Savannah High Lady Blue Jackets, the Bradwell Lady Tigers improved their overall record to 11-1 and their Region 3-AAAAA record to 3-0.

Donell Woods tourney set for Jan. 16

Donell Woods was an athlete, teacher and coach who devoted his life to the educational system and children of Liberty County before he lost his battle with cancer in his early 40s. It's been 30 years since Woods died, but his legacy continues as the annual tournament bearing his name enters its 16th year. On Saturday, Jan. 16, ninth grade and junior varsity teams will hit the court.

Georgia Rattlers games start in February

It'll be hard to know what to do when the NFL winds down to nothing more than the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl. Well, for Liberty County residents, there is no need to put away the tailgate supplies just yet. The county's newly formed semi-professional football team, the Georgia Rattlers, is looking to hit the grid-iron with games starting in February.

The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers started the New Year with an easy win Saturday, defeating the Long County Lady Tide 90-24.

Long County beats Bradwell

Saturday's cross-county rival game between Bradwell Institute and Long County High School was fiercely competitive to the end. The squads went back and fourth for three and a half quarters, staying within points of each other. However, the Tide eventually earned a 63-71 victory.
