On Wednesday, Long County High School athlete Gerald "L.G." Williams Jr. signed a letter-of-intent to play football for Fort Valley State University in 2017. Williams, who played linebacker for the Blue Tide football team said that it was a dream come true getting a scholarship to play college ball.

Saturday, Bradwell Institute looked to revenge earlier loses to Ware County. On Dec. 13, the Lady Gators defeated the Lady Tigers 34-19, and the Gators edged out the Tigers 81-80 in overtime.
