Tide fall to Phoeniz in Sweet 16

The Long County Blue Tide boys' soccer team looked to make history once again Wednesday when they faced off against the Sonoraville Phoenix in the Sweet Sixteen of the AAA state playoffs. However, their historic season ended with a 3-0 loss to the team from Calhoun.

Lady Tide Fall to Adairsville 1-0

On Tuesday the Long County High School girls soccer team's season came to an end with a heart-breaking loss to Adairsville High School (15-4). Playing in Ludowici the Lady Tide and the Tigers went tooth-and-nail against each other for the majority of the game. But with less than two minutes to play in regulation Adairsville's Gillian Johnson punched in a goal to steal the win 1-0. Though Long County lost, head coach Sabrina Caines had nothing but praise for her team and their opponents.

Over the weekend, Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute track and field teams competed in their respective sectional track meets to qualify for state.

Lady Highlanders beat Bulloch Acad. on Senior Night

On April 25, the Highlanders soccer teams played their last home games of the regular season, hosting Bulloch Academy on Senior Night. The Lady 'Landers crushed Bulloch 12-1 and the Highlanders lost 7-1.

Despite 11 saves from keeper Brett Blake, Long County High School fell 3-0 to Sonoraville in the second round of the Class AAA state soccer tournament Wednesday in Ludowici.

FPCA's track team medals at State

The FPCA track team competed in the GISA Track State Tournament in Albany Georgia, April 27-29. The small team consisted of just 6 participants, 5 boys and 1 girl. Despite the small roster, the Highlanders grabbed championship medals in several events and placed well above expectations in team standings.
