Tide player kept trying hard and hoping

On Wednesday, Long County High School athlete Gerald "L.G." Williams Jr. signed a letter-of-intent to play football for Fort Valley State University in 2017. Williams, who played linebacker for the Blue Tide football team said that it was a dream come true getting a scholarship to play college ball.

On Wednesday Long County High School standout football player Tariq Carpenter signed a letter-of-intent to play for the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017. Carpenter who was rated as a 3-Star recruit by 24-7 Sports, said that playing for the Rambling Wreck was beyond his belief.
