Liberty Recreation Department gears up for fall

Registration for youth football and cheerleading at the Liberty County Recreation Department runs through Aug. 12. The programs are for 7- to 12-year-olds, as of Sept. 1. Seven-year-olds play flag football and 8- through 12-year-olds play tackle football. Weight restrictions apply to all tackle football. Cost is $20 per child. Equipment is provided, except pants for tackle football players.

FPCA starts football season Aug. 12

First Presbyterian Christian Academy will get a jump start to its football season this year. While most public schools won't play their first regular-season games until Aug. 26, FPCA will hit the gridiron on Aug. 12, at Westwood in Camilla.
