Live, laugh and love after Valentine's Day

Last week, sweethearts around the nation celebrated the most romantic of holidays - Valentine's Day. The origin of St. Valentine's Day is uncertain. It's been said that it was named after a Roman Empire-era priest named Valentine, who supposedly defied the emperor's orders to outlaw marriage so more soldiers could enlist in the Roman army. The emperor supposedly believed married men made poor soldiers, according to www.linguatics.com.

Identify yourself as a believer

My wife and I took a short trip to the state of Maine early last summer. We didn't prepare ourselves for the cool evenings with the clothing we packed. So the second day we were there, we went to the store and bought a couple of jackets with the state name and emblem on them.

Have faith because the best is yet to come

It was attached to the wall with a cord, and had a rotary dial. Until I was about 12 it was a "party line." And until I was 16 the cord on the phone was three feet long. That restricted any private conversations.
