Stewart opens Army Wellness Center

A new Army Wellness Center officially opened at Fort Stewart this week with a ribbon cutting by 3rd Infantry Division and Stewart-Hunter Commander Maj. Gen. Health run attracts nearly 100 athletes

In its first year, the Healthy Hinesville 5K Run/Walk event brought out almost 100 community members, including several groups, to support mental-health awareness. The Sept. 7 event, which fell on a beautiful, sunny morning, raised $2,205 for patients at Georgia Regional Hospital.

Healthcare reform workshop Tuesday

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce will have a health-care reform workshop from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday in the board room at the chamber offices, 425 W. Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville. The class will discuss the Affordable Health Care Act and its impact on businesses. Guest speakers will include Lisette Villa of Liberty Tax, DeLisa Espada of Strategic Business Solutions and David Morris of Diversity Health Center.
