Changes coming to school health rules

The 2014-15 school year will bring changes for children attending Georgia schools. Health department officials in Liberty, Long, Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn and McIntosh counties want to make parents aware of those changes now, before the end of the current school year.

Traffic stops check for safety violations

Hinesville residents can expect to see an increased presence of public safety personnel on the roads this year as the city encourages safety among its citizens. To kick off those efforts, the Hinesville Police and Fire departments joined forces Feb. 18 to conduct a road safety check on vehicles. It was the first of a series of checks taking place this year.

Family, friends walk for wounded warrior

Discipline, not help, is often what's needed

Wellness Wednesday lunch Wednesday

BRUNSWICK- The Golden Isles YMCA will host a Wellness Wednesday Lunch and Learn from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, featuring Dr. Tina Mitchell, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. Her presentation, titled "Menopause and Your Health," will focus on the risks and benefits associated with postmenopausal hormone therapy, the hormonal and physical changes that occur with menopause and treatment options for menopausal symptoms. The Olive Garden will provide lunch at no charge to attendees.

Keep chili on hand for chilly days

Marne Health site promotes education
