4th IBCT Maintainers provie weapons training

CAMP MAIWAND, Afghanistan - U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Samuel Caffrey, a Hastings, Pa., native and an armament repairer with Company B, 703rd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, trained Afghan national-army soldiers April 16 on how to disassemble and reassemble the M4 and M16 rifle, the M249 squad automatic weapon and the M240B machine gun at Camp Maiwand, Afghanistan.

Baptist site blocked, unblocked on Stewart

The Southern Baptist Convention's website temporarily was blocked last week on numerous military installations, according to an April 24 report by Fox News. A Fort Stewart chaplain, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed that Fort Stewart was among the bases where the SBC website was blocked, and he remains skeptical about the reasons given for the block.

Most TRICARE benefits won't be cut

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – TRICARE Prime will remain a health-care option for 97 percent of approximately 5 million beneficiaries eligible for Prime. The 3 percent difference, comprising about 171,000 beneficiaries, automatically will revert to the TRICARE Standard health care option Oct. 1. Those beneficiaries, who mostly reside more than 40 miles from a military clinic or hospital, recently received letters explaining their options and will receive reminder letters in June or July.
