Editor missed point of previous letter

Editor: This is in response to your staff column on July 9. I am afraid that you missed the point of my letter of July 5. The subject of my letter was to bring to light how inefficient and uninformed Midway's city council and mayor are. I compared Midway to Pooler to show that Pooler has professionals on their city council, while Midway has a mayor and city council with absolutely no concept of how to handle money, develop needed businesses and plan for the future.

A dozen gardening hacks to keep things pretty

When I was growing up, the word "hack" meant a couple of different things: cutting something, like hacking a log, or someone that is unprofessional or sleazy. When I looked up the word, I learned it has even meant coughing.

Successful PBJ campaign keeps it simple

Editor: I'm not sure who coined the phrase "keep it simple," but we did, and the community response was tremendous. During the past three years we've coordinated a food drive for the Manna House on the first Thursday in June during the Farmers Market in Bradwell Park.
