Will anyone take Midway ticket challenge?

Editor, The Coastal Courier graciously published my previous letter to the editor wherein I challenged anyone to produce a speeding ticket issued by a Midway Police Department officer for going 5 miles per hour or less over the posted speed limit. The prize was a $50 gift certificate for Red Lobster or Olive Garden restaurants. The 30-day window has passed and no one has produced the winning ticket. This would tend to indicate that either there is no credence to the claims in Sound off that tickets have been issued for driving 5 mph or less over the speed limit ...

Ludowici, Long should address pay issue

Editor, The Long County Press recently published an article about Nancy McKnew attending the Long County Commission meeting to address the issues concerning Long County Board of Elections Chairwoman Vanessa Cunningham. Commission Chairman Bobby Walker said the matter is under investigation. Protecting Ogeechee makes more than just environmental sense

It's easy to get mad over the way the Ogeechee River has been treated, first by King America, then by state authorities. Dumping by King America in 2011 caused the worst fish kill in the river in memory, and the state's Environmental Protection Division responded with what amounts to a slap on the wrist.
