It's a wasteland only if we let it be one

Sometimes I hear television described as the "great wasteland." I have even alluded to such myself. But I want to be fair on the subject. I think television can provoke thought which in turn stimulates the brain which can be a good thing.

Get healthy one month at a time

This time last year, Josh and I started making some changes to our lifestyle to become healthier people. Little did we know that I'd become pregnant just weeks later and soon would discover that hot dogs and biscuits and gravy were the only things my new pregnant body would let me keep down - not the most healthful meal choices.

Midway budget raises questions

Riceboro has a nice brick city hall. Flemington has turned an old house into a quaint city hall. Ludowici has a city hall, and Hinesville has a brand-new three-story city hall. Why criticize the government

Some readers think that I take delight in criticizing President Barack Obama. I don't. I would prefer to see a strong president leading our country, a president who understands how our country has succeeded for the past 200-plus years, a president who wants our country to advance economically, a president who does not apologize to the world for what America has accomplished, a president who understands the importance of a tough defensive position to protect our citizens, a president who understands the words, "We the People."
