Head Start/pre-K have joint field day

Coastal Georgia Area CAA and the Liberty County Head Start/Pre-K Center in Riceboro helped Head Start and pre-K students end the school year on a high note by hosting the annual family and community field day May 20.

Liberty/Long Retired Educators Association recently presented its 2011 scholarship to ShaLeia Latrice James. James is a Bradwell Institute senior who plans to attend Clafin University in Orangeburg, S.C., where she will major in music education. She is the daughter of Steven and Ann James.

Students present parting gifts on last day

Lyman Hall Elementary parent involvement coordinator Lavonia LeCounte receives a hug and a portrait of herself as a "100-year-old" from kindergarten students on Thursday. Kindergarten teacher Ana Linzan encouraged her students to draw pictures of their favorite administrative staff members and present the depictions to the staff members on the last day of the 2010-11 school year.
