Donations are music to band students' ears

Bradwell Institute received a donation Aug. 22 from the Hinesville Jazz/Poets Meet-up Group. A flute, clarinet and a trumpet were given to the school band. "The band is very appreciative," Daryl Wolfram, band director, (left) said. The instruments will be loaned to students who cannot afford to buy one. Teens tour U.S. with drum, bugle corps

Special to the Courier Two youths from Hinesville, Patrick Farace and Lauren Faircloth, returned home Aug. 12 after participating this summer with Teal Sound, which is a Division II Drum and Bugle Corps with Drum Corps International. They auditioned with more than 300 other youth to make the cut of approximately 130 to be accepted into the corps for this summer's tour. Students help pack Backpack Buddies kit
