The Liberty-Long Retired Educators recently selected Liberty County High School senior Jeremy Fermin as its college scholarship winner. Jane Cart, the organization's scholarship coordinator, presented it to him. Fermin will be attending the University of Georgia and plans to major in music education. His parents are Bernard and Dotty Fermin.
The Liberty County Commission is participating in the Summer Food Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge. Meals will be provided at all sites listed. The program will be open for service on June 11-July 27. Meals will be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Georgia State Board of Education recently awarded technology grants to 60 public schools in Georgia as part of the Title II-funded Instructional Technology Enhanced Environments Competitive Grant program.
