WP first-graders have Thanksgiving feast

First-grade classes at Waldo Pafford Elementary School celebrated Thanksgiving by having a feast. The feast included vegetable soup containing all the vegetables that the natives taught the Pilgrims to plant. Each student made a placemat where they wrote what they were thankful for. All classes joined together and sat by someone in another class so they could meet someone new as the Pilgrims did. First-grade teachers are John Kirklin, Renae Boyer, Cindy Chandler, Naketa Gillam, Candice Hankins and Ruby Roberts.

Santa visits pre-schoolers with deployed parents

As a way to offer support for families affected by the deployment, the Liberty County Pre-K has organized a Deployment Support Group. Pre-K parents meet informally to offer each other support and friendship during the deployment. As a special treat for group participants this month, Santa Claus visited with the children of deployed soldiers and posed for individual photographs. The group plans to meet at least once a month for the remainder of the school year.
