Graduating from high school and deciding what career path to pursue are two of life's first big milestones for many young people. Eriko Smith, a senior at Bradwell Institute, is just a stone's throw away from both of these and, thanks to the Liberty County School System's Work-Based Learning Program, she's well-prepared.
On March 22, First Presbyterian Christian Academy had its annual science night. On science night, all FPCA high school students create and present science experiments for the elementary school students, bridging the age gap between them for a night filled with fun and learning. The experiments vary from science lab staples, such as chemical reactions, to oddities most people would not recognize, like creating plastic or glow-in-the dark bubbles.
At its March meeting, the Long County Board of Education named a new high school principal for the 2010-11 school year. The board didn't have to look far. Current assistant principal, Scotty Hattaway, was chosen to replace Dr. Dolores Mallard.

Sixteen FBLA members from Bradwell Institute participated in region competitions recently at Wayne County High School in Jesup. The business ethics team advanced to the state competition, which will be in Atlanta on March 26-27. Rickie Works and Xanthus Lee will compete.
