The 2014 Junior Ranger Camp at Fort Morris State Historic Site in Sunbury will take place from 9 a.m.-noon daily from June 10-14.
Members of the 2014 Young Adult Leadership Liberty class were recognized during a graduation banquet May 16 at the Liberty College and Career Academy. The LCCA culinary-arts students prepared and served dinner for 71 people in attendance. Liberty County Commission Chairman Donald Lovette delivered the key note address.

What: Armstrong Alumni Center Grand Opening. Armstrong Atlantic State University will host a grand opening reception and ribbon cutting to celebrate the new Alumni Center in historic Burnett Hall. As one of Armstrong's eight original buildings on the university's Southside campus, Burnett Hall serves as a strategic venue for the Alumni Center. The Alumni Center will also house the Alumni Affairs Office, which is dedicated to preserving Armstrong's past, while building on the future.

The Liberty County School System, through the teaching and learning department, will offer Focused Learning After School Hours (FLASH) courses for all teachers beginning this month. One-hour FLASH courses, held on announced days, will provide resources, tools and take-away items for the teachers' toolkits. For each 10 FLASH courses completed, educators will earn one Professional Learning Unit.
For the past 15 years, the Liberty County School System has contracted the Student Transition and Recovery Program as a means for discipline and behavior intervention.
