Nominations for community STARs due Friday to STC

SAVANNAH - The Savannah Technical College Foundation Community Council will host the 2016 Tribute to Community STARs at noon Friday, April 1, in the Eckburg Auditorium on the college's Savannah Campus, 5717 White Bluff Road. Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen Georgia is a public-private, needs-based mentor and scholarship program. REACH Scholars are paired with a mentor and academic coach through high school. Scholars must maintain good grades (2.5 GPA in core courses), behavior and attendance through middle and high school.

Georgia 13th in nation for AP pass rates

The percentage of Georgia students in the Class of 2015 scoring 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement exam during high school is up, according to data released Wednesday by the College Board. Georgia is ranked 13th in the nation for the percentage of students scoring 3 or higher on at least one exam, and is one of just 15 states to exceed the national average.
