Electric 'Elysium' overcomes downsides

South African writer/ director Neill Blomkamp made a huge splash with his debut sci-fi film, "District 9." Entertainment Weekly called the 2009 film "madly original, cheekily political, [and] altogether exciting." They also called it "a thinking person's sci-fi movie from an inventive director." I was a fan.

Jubilee Choir entertains Goldenheris

The Jubilee choir, the senior group of First Baptist Church, presented the July program for Goldenheirs. Directed by Elaine Walker, the choir sang patriotic and traditional numbers. The Goldenheirs meet at noon on the first Tuesday of each month at First Baptist Church in Hinesville. All seniors are invited.
