When the Top of the Morning Rotary Club of Charlotte, N.C., called on Rotarians in Georgia to help buy a van to transport special needs children to school, area Rotary clubs sprang into action. Richmond Hill Rotary Club President Donna Jones and Hinesville Rotary Club President Gary Dodd threw the support of their organizations behind the project.
New Eagle Scout honored for recent achievements
New Eagle Scout Chris Bourque of Boy Scout Troop 401 was recognized for his achievements at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor from Lions International President Al Brandel. The letter and Eagle Scout certificate were presented by Jerry Leland, president of the Liberty Coastal Lions Club.
Lions Club plans to help Georgians
Members of the Hinesville Lion's Club joined the myaor as he signed a proclamation Thursday in honor of White Cane Day. The Lions Club will participate in White Cane Day on Saturday, April 4, at Wal-Mart. They will accept donations to help Georgians in need of vision and hearing care.

Artists capture beauty of live oaks
The Georgia coast is home to some of the country's oldest and largest live oak trees. Through the years, their snarled arms and immense size have stirred muse-like inspiration in a host of Southern painters, writers and nature lovers.
