Cancer society honors local schools

Victoria Ten Broeck, community manager of the American Cancer Society, recently presented signs to local educators acknowledging local schools' work for cancer awareness. Principals from participating schools received the signs acknowledging contributions to the 2008 Relay for Life campaign. The 2009 Relay for Life will be May 8-9.

TyshaJuana L. Stevens was first runner-up, and Jaquita A. West was second runner-up and also "Miss Congeniality." Other contestants were Lexington Louvett Collins and Miss Neosha D. Capers.
