Long opens time capsule, buries another

With help from the Masons of Georgia, Long County removed a cornerstone of the courthouse Saturday, and glimpsed artifacts from a time long gone. The stone housed a time capsule full of items from 1926.

Rotary revamps funding formula

Rotary District Governor-Elect Clyde Taylor recently updated Hinesville Rotarians on changes in funding uses and sources, including restructuring the nonprofit club's grants and partnerships. Coat drive under way in Long County

Barnards celebrate golden anniversary

Bernard and Sheila Barnard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 4. The couple married in Nahunta First Baptist Church in 1963, and they have two children: Bernie Barnard Jr. and his wife Kim, who live in Pooler, and Bruce Barnard and his wife Angie, who live in Vidalia. The Barnards have five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
