Toys for Tots brightens holidays

About 30 volunteers distributed toys to more than 2,300 Liberty County children Dec. 15 for Toys for Tots. Parents received bagfuls of unwrapped toys for their children. People were also able to have their presents wrapped free of charge. Area residents donated the toys and the distribution took place at Michael's Deli in Hinesville.

Scouts donate to Manna House

Boy Scout Troop Pack 566 collected non-perishable items for Manna House. This was a community project that involved scouts from Tiger Cubs to Webelos. The boys started collecting items about two weeks ago, and a total of $400-500 worth of donations were collected. Barnards celebrate golden anniversary

Bernard and Sheila Barnard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 4. The couple married in Nahunta First Baptist Church in 1963, and they have two children: Bernie Barnard Jr. and his wife Kim, who live in Pooler, and Bruce Barnard and his wife Angie, who live in Vidalia. The Barnards have five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
