CASA swears in new volunteers

SAVANNAH - On Sept. 23, Savannah/Chatham Court Appointed Special Advocates, Inc. welcomed 13 new CASA volunteers to its ranks of serving in the best interests of children. The volunteers were joined by CASA staff, board of directors and family, and Juvenile Court Judge John Beam Jr. presided over the ceremony.

Educators proud of group's work abroad

Alpha Delta Kappa is an honorary organization of women educators. The Alpha Omicron Chapter of ADK, which was created in Liberty County 49 years ago, recently announced the completion of a joint project with the Veterans Vietnam Restoration Project. In five months, the groups built a five-room school in Ta Rinh, Vietnam, and dedicated it on Sept. 3.
