Center established for senior citizens

Tim Rutherford, vice president of Senior Citizens, Inc., spoke to the Rotary Club on Tuesday. The organization's mission is to assist with independent living for seniors, as well as promoting the well being of the elderly. The company recently opened the Ruth Byck Adult Day Care Center in Hinesville at the Victory Assembly of God Church. Rutherford also oversees the "Meals on Wheels" program in Savannah that makes lunch deliveries to seniors in Liberty County.

Soldier makes public proposal

James May, a U.S. Army soldier who will deploy soon, and his girlfriend of four years, Kristina Rooks, became engaged July 10. May, however, made his intentions public by meeting his future fiancee in the lobby of The Heritage Bank in Hinesville. Rooks was surprised as May presented the ring. Their son, Zachary, carried the ring box.
