Operation Homefront helps military families

The Liberty County community showed its appreciation for the sacrifices made by military members and their families Wednesday through a holiday-meal distribution hosted by Operation Homefront Southeast. 164 volunteers give out Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots volunteers prepare to distribute 6,800 toys to local families in need Saturday at the former Jordye Bacon Elementary School in Hinesville. United Way Liberty County office Director Jennifer Darsey, who coordinates the area's TFT campaign, said the community raised $36,000 to help the 1,700 children on the distribution list. Three-hundred children were placed on a waiting list. One-hundred and forty-seven volunteers participated.

Get those closets cleaned out

I may not like doing it, but once I get started cleaning out closets, it is almost like a drug. I want to clean out cabinets, storage rooms, etc. I know it sounds like a sickness, but it is true. I actually feel lighter when I purge stuff that we no longer use.
