The County Line Barn Tack and Feed Store in Long County recently hosted a rabies clinic. Dr. Janeen Kluska, Reagan Burgess and Wendy McClelland conducted the clinic and served 52 customers. According to store owner Karen Waters, the day was a great success, and several customers brought in more than one animal. The search is on for Georgia's outstanding senior volunteer. The Salute to Senior Service program - sponsored by Home Instead Inc., the franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care network - honors the contributions of adults 65 and older who give at least 15 hours a month of volunteer service to their favorite causes. Saturday's rain held off for two of the three hours scheduled for Bryant Commons' first public event, an Easter egg roll. Children as young as toddlers began lining up with their parents by 10:30 a.m. at the activities.
The second annual Good Friday Walk for Shelter starts at noon, March 29. According to event coordinator Jim McIntosh, the route for the five-mile walk begins at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at 1370 Shaw Road and finishes at St. Philip's Episcopal Church at 302 Gen. Stewart Way.
Fort Morris State Historic Site will hold a "Native Americans and the American Revolution" event from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 30. The celebration will commemorate the battle of Jan. 9, 1779, when British Gen. Augustine Prevost launched an assault on the fort, which was surrendered the next day.

The annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl is considered one of the nation's premier high-school football game. It features the best 90 players in an East vs. West matchup every January in San Antonio's Alamo Dome and is broadcast live on NBC.
