Volunteer zombies needed for stroll

The fifth annual Scarecrow Stroll and Beggars Night organizers are seeking dancers and zombies for a "Thriller" performance and newly added Zombie Walk. The performance will take place in downtown Hinesville during the Halloween-themed evening, which runs from 4-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. The performance starts at 6:15 p.m.

Veterans urged to help with wounded warriors

Members and leaders of local veterans' organizations attended Tuesday's meeting of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 789 at the Golden Hibachi Buffet on Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville. The veterans came to hear guest speaker Lt. Col. Rose Deck, commander of the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Stewart.
