Please stop wasting time about the election that's once every four years. We are a community. Please put something in the paper about rebuilding our parks and playgrounds. They are outdated. I am willing to help with any projects. Our children need it.

What has happened to Fraser Acres subdivision? At one time, it was Hinesville's nicest subdivision. Now it's the worst; people don't mow their grass, they leave their poly-carts out by the road all weekend, and they leave their equipment trailers parked out in the road and they turn the road into a one-lane road. What's happened to a beautiful neighborhood?

I live on a Long County farm, and my three small dogs are, for their own protection, fenced in. To those who abandon dogs and cats in the country, a bullet to their head is more humane than dumping them in the country. Coyotes, wildlife cats, snakes and gators aren't friendly to pampered and then abandoned pets.

In reference to Sunday's editorial about Midway being anti-business, I find it hard to believe because their city hall is in the same building as a laundromat and a hair salon.

I was so sorry to read that Poole's Deli was closing. I wish Susan had announced it to the public so we could have gone for one last time. She served me, and then my daughter and then my granddaughters. It will sure be missed by this family; my son used to eat there every morning on his way to work.

This is in response to the individual who felt the pastor of Gum Branch Baptist Church was somehow disrespectful because he occasionally wore a polo shirt when delivering his sermon instead of wearing a suit: I would contend this individual has lost his reason for attending the church. God is not in the fashion business; what is important is not what one wears on his back but what one wears in his heart.

Why is it Winn Army hospital doesn't have Fox News on any of their channels? It's all CNN or HLN. Are they scared to know the real truth?

You know, the people that are saying they're voting Democrat in November, all they're doing is telling the world, "I'm an atheist; I hate God; I hate Israel and everything else." And I feel sorry for them.

OK, Long County School System, it's time. We are tired of the way that we are being treated by the principals, we need to go on a strike. You see what Chicago does, it's time for Long County, especially the teachers at Walker. And the parapros are treated better than we are? Let's show them that we are somebody and we have a degree. All for it, let's do it.

Looks to me like Coach Walsh did all he could do with the players he had for the field. And it looks like the assistants weren't much help to him. Maybe it's the assistant coaches' fault.

This is in reference to the caller talking about President Obama being bashed for "Bush's mess." Nobody has to remind us about President Obama being bad, he tells us whose problem it was. Read the word of God, and you'll find out the things that President Obama stands for are not in God's word. Abortion and gay marriage. It's wrong; it's from the pits of hell.

When you go to vote at the polls, remember: You want all kids to work, no matter who they are. You want jobs for all. And when everybody's got jobs, everybody's working, they take care of their own family. We don't have to ask for handouts for their own family, because we take care of our own, and that's what America's about.

I just read Friday's article on the Backpack Buddies program, it's a great idea - really poorly executed. To call these foods healthy is absurd. They're sodium and sugar-laden junk. Please consult a nutritionist and stop contributing to childhood obesity. It's for our kids.

Let's try to find some local people looking for people in Liberty County. There are other people looking for work, and it all goes to Buckley and Associates. I'm sure they can retire and not do another piece of work, because Liberty County gets them for everything.
