I want to address the fact that Liberty County cannot get their tax bills put in the mail before right here at Christmas. I like to pay my taxes early, but I have property in another state, and why can't Liberty County and even Savannah can get their property taxes out in August? What's wrong with Liberty County? Are we paying them enough? I think we are - so why can't they do their jobs?

Isn't it strange, people get elected to office, good for them. They get elected, they deserve it. But isn't it a shame when someone else has to complain about a stupid picture? My gosh, let's set an example for all kids to get along.

I think Russian president Putin is correct in not allowing Americans to adopt Russian children. No Americans shall be allowed to adopt outside of the United States until no child in the United States is left homeless - they should not be allowed to adopt outside the U.S. until every child has a home.

These state troopers with all this specialized training, are they the same ones we give gasoline to so they can patrol? I recommend we keep our money and gasoline and train our own city and county officers. Counting on an outside agency is kind of like counting on your brother-in-law.

I would like for someone to tell me the exact number of mass killings, killings, murders, robberies, drive-by shootings that even one gun-control law has prevented.

Maps are going out that have people's names on it that legally have permits for their guns. I thought now we should put signs in our yards: "If you want to commit a crime, just come on because you know we're loaded."

To the person making comments about their water bill, something fishy: My water bill went from $169 in September to $74 in October and $89 in November. There are only three members of my household who use water on a routine basis every day. I'm going to do an investigation.

I do not know who Mr. Joe Gillam is, but I certainly agree with his letter to the editor in reference to 2012 is a year of waste. I have lived here 20 years, though it's not my home - but I sure have seen a lot of wasteful tax spending. Mr. Joe Gillam, I applaud you sir for writing a letter to the editor.
