When you go to vote at the polls, remember: You want all kids to work, no matter who they are. You want jobs for all. And when everybody's got jobs, everybody's working, they take care of their own family. We don't have to ask for handouts for their own family, because we take care of our own, and that's what America's about.
I just read Friday's article on the Backpack Buddies program, it's a great idea - really poorly executed. To call these foods healthy is absurd. They're sodium and sugar-laden junk. Please consult a nutritionist and stop contributing to childhood obesity. It's for our kids.
I am very upset by the fact that we spent $7 million to redo Olvey Field, and we can't get rid of a losing coach. It's a real embarrassment to have a stadium like that and a football team that doesn't have the quality of leadership to guide it to being a team of recognition. If anything, it's a total embarrassment. Walsh has got to go.
We the people of the Fleming Community would like to thank choochoo for the cleanup. It looks much better, thank you.
Last week, I went to the state police station to renew my drivers' license, which I had for five years. I was told to first prove I was a citizen of the United States and lived in Georgia for two years. Duh! It was a Georgia drivers' license expiring this month.
Olvey Field, beautiful stadium, top notch, everything looked great. Only bad thing is to find out all this money was spent, but no security measures were taken. Due to the recent hate crimes and hate organizations, I feel like Liberty County could have done that much to provide security.
It's time for a change at Bradwell Institute. Coach Walsh needs to go. I guess Midway news isn't important. Where's the rest of the Midway City Council news that's supposed to be continued in the paper on page 10? It was not in this paper that I could find. Midway is important. I live at Brittney Lane and Meloney Drive, and I would like to know what gives the elected officials of Hinesville permission to ...
I have a complaint, and I think there are a lot of people in the same boat with me. Both my husband and I take multiple medications, but the pharmacist somewhere along the line has quit putting what the medication is for. How many people would like to get a shout-out to get the pharmacists to put what the medication is for on the medicine bottle?
How come teachers are teaching kids one way and testing them another way? That's not fair, you should teach them and test them the right way.
Why is it that only members of the Hinesville mafia can get their roads paved in front of their house in Hinesville?
If the federal government really wants to save money, they would close those Department of Defense schools down. They were brought in because of segregation, and segregation does not exist anymore.
I'm calling about the problem with the parents visiting our Liberty County schools. I feel like there should be another meeting between the parents and the school board. It's not fair - they want parent participation and helping, but they can't go to the school and see what's going on for themselves. To me, that would alleviate a lot of problems.
I'm calling to respond to the citizen who complained about the new Liberty County DFCS. As a service provider, I visit the DFCS offices several times a week and the vast majority of these staff members are working diligently to serve the community. If individuals receiving these benefits would take advantage of the state's web tools rather than taking their frustrations out on these local workers, the phone lines would be free more often.
To the low-income handicapped person that's looking for a vehicle to go to his doctor's appointment, call transportation - they would be glad to take you to and from your appointments. Call transportation.
I am so blessed to have wonderful neighbors who would do things for you without your asking and without expecting anything in return. God bless you, and you are appreciated.
