How do you plan to vote on the Transportation Investment Act in July?

This proposed transportation tax is an insult to the intelligence of all the people of Georgia. A transportation tax that will not go to the GDOT for the upkeep of our roads and bridges.? Our tax on every gallon of gasoline sold at the pumps brought a pretty good windfall to the state which has worked quite well for all the years I can remember, and the revenue collected at the pump sales has always been there to maintain the road and bridge infrastructure. Now our politicians want to try something different. They wish to collect from you on a not so local TSPLOST and spread the wealth (sound familiar). Folks this is a very bad tax, sets a new precedent, and just another way to raise revenue for the state to dole out to their buddy's in various locations within the state. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS TRANSPORTATION SPECIAL LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX (TSPLOST) TO PASS. Vote NO against this fallacy. If this tax does manage to pass, will the tax on gasoline at the pumps be rescinded? I think not. Also, I would like to know the true agenda that is behind a former state representative pushing to have this tax pass. Time to wake up people - you will be paying 8 cents on every dollar spent in Liberty County for sales tax if this passes. The county will only receive 25% of this extra penny with the state doling 75% to other counties in the state. Not a very good return on your investment.
