Politics has proven detrimental to defense since Vietnam. Democrats in power diminish the military, usually to dangerous levels; Republicans in power support more strength and numbers in the military. After Obama was elected, his administration went on an offensive against any area with a strong Republican base. We had Kingston so our bases were targets. But don't think the Republicans don't practice political retaliation when in power, too.

It is time to stop playing with defense and people's lives and for both parties to get on the same page. If we want to preserve a free America and protect our ways of life for the future, then we darn well better be able to protect ourselves in the wink of an eye. Period.
