A recreation vehicle caught fire on Interstate 95 Wednesday afternoon, backing up traffic for several miles.

Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Capt. David Edwards said the fire started shortly before 2 p.m. in the front of the vehicle near Riceboro’s Exit 67. There were no injuries.

Eastern District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Joe Martin said when units from his department arrived shortly after 2, the RV was engulfed in flames. Martin said northbound lanes of 95 were closed while his firefighter extinguished the fire.
